DOT Image Recognition

Each tire has a DOT (Department of Transport) code imprinted on its sidewall. The code is composed of numbers and letters. There are 3 pieces of information, namely plant code, manufacturer’s code and date code, that make up a TIN (tire identification number) as follows: DOT T7D3 1B H 3218

The AI-powered DOT Image Recognition API makes it easier for end-users to recognize the DOT code by supplying an image of the sidewall of a tire. 

Potential users could be the dealers, customer care executives who are in charge of registering tire warranty claims. This capability can be used in uploading claims in Salesforce for damaged tires through easy-to-use mobile app.

DOT scanning is required at multiple places like tire manufacturing plant, distribution center to manage tire stock inventory where this API can be reused by integrating with their existing system to automate the process.

For accurate results, the image of tire sidewall should be clear with the DOT code properly visible. An example of a good image of tire sidewall is:
